Course Description
When asked about their preference for housing, most seniors will respond that they’d like to remain in their homes. Unfortunately, that isn’t always possible so assisted living facilities become an option for helping people cope with their declining abilities. In this course you will learn the responsibilities involved with becoming a caregiver and how to cue, coach and assist residents with the self-administration of medicine. By the end of this course, you will be able to:
-Understand what is meant by assistance
-Recognize the various "routes" of medication
-Know what to look for on a prescription or pharmacy label
-Understand how medication is packaged
-Know how to properly store medication
-Know what information to include in medication records
