Course Description
This program includes fire prevention and what to do in the event of a fire. We also discuss common types of fires, risk factors and emergency preparedness measures with special attention given to the specific considerations of the direct care worker in the ID/DD field. By the end of this course, you will be able to:
-Define fire safety
-Understand global preparedness and prevention
-Recognize global fire hazards
-Demonstrate emergency response actions to fires
-Fight and prevent specific types of fires
-Explain what actions to take in the aftermath of a fire or in the case of a burn
