Course Description
Because the changes that come with aging tend to make life more difficult and often lead to people entering assisted living facilities, the elderly have a unique set of psychosocial needs. In this course, you will learn about the aging process and the strategies you can employ to keep residents as happy and healthy as possible. By the end of this course, you will be able to:
-Define the term psychosocial
-Understand the aging process
-Recognize and understand the stages of psychosocial development and the tasks of the elderly population as determined by various psychosocial therapists
-Identify common changes experienced by the elderly
-Determine how to meet the psychosocial needs of the elderly
