Course Description
The core principle of fundamental rights states that each individual has, "the right to be treated with courtesy, respect, and full recognition of human dignity and individuality." In this course, you will learn what fundamental rights are and why they are so important. We will also discuss different ways to support the individuals in your care when it comes to exercising these rights. By the end of this course, you will be able to:
-Define the core principles of fundamental rights
-Identify the differences between old attitudes and new attitudes regarding people with developmental disabilities

-Identify the nine fundamental rights
-Identify guidelines for supporting fundamental rights
