As per COMAR regulation 10.07.14.19 B (6): “Other staff” must receive initial and annual training in fire and life safety, infection control, basic food safety, emergency disaster plans, psychosocial needs of the elderly, resident assessment process, service plans, and resident’s rights. In addition, as per COMAR regulation 10.07.14.19 G: when job duties involve the provision of personal care services, employees shall receive a minimum of five hours of training on cognitive impairment and mental illness within their first 90 days of employment. Because this training shall be designed to meet the specific needs of the program’s population as determined by the assisted living manager, we provide the flexibility of selecting the five courses that best meet your needs.
