Course Description
Trauma is an event that is perceived as a threat and results in overwhelming an individual's ability to respond. There are a variety of scenarios that can causes trauma, so there isn't a definitive answer to the question, "What causes Trauma?" However, there are some skills and strategies you can learn and implement when you are working with a child who has been traumatized. By the end of this training, you will be able to:
-Define trauma
-Understand what might cause trauma
-Recognize behaviors that indicate trauma
-Recognize the prevalence of situations that may lead to trauma
-Explain the five core principles of working with people within a helping relationship
