This training course will introduce you to person-centered supports and we’ll discuss all the components of the person-centered individual support plan, including who is involved in creating the ISP. We’ll also focus on the importance of the DSP and talk about your role in creating, updating and following the ISP.

This course will help you better understand what rights people with developmental and intellectual disabilities have and what you can do to help support those rights. We’ll also discuss the responsibilities that come with each right and how you can help the people you support meet those responsibilities. This course will also look at abuse, neglect and exploitation and what is expected of the DSP if any of those things occur.

In this course, you will learn about incident management, abuse, neglect and exploitation. You will learn how to report incidents, as well as how to support individuals and keep them safe from environments that encourage abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
